Fishing Report – July

Estuary

Big mulloway and XL flathead continue to be caught in the Maroochy River on live mullet and lures. Barracuda and small queenfish also about in the river this year.

Reefs

Amberjack and kingfish on the wrecks. 

Light Tackle

Not much to report but I’ve heard that the bait on the inshore marks has been good.   

Heavy Tackle

Only heard a couple of reports of stripe marlin out wide. Should be coming into the yellowfin tuna time of year shortly.  While there’s no current and wind we should be deep dropping.  Next run up to the full moon in August would be good. Worth a try in between tide changes when out wide trolling.
